    • Why and when do I need a privacy policy?

Whenever you plan to collect personal data, and regardless of the medium used, you must provide a set of mandatory information to the individuals concerned before the collection of their data.

Data subjects can be your customers, prospects, users of the website, suppliers, etc.

The policies created by Admeet allow you to display your privacy policy in a clear way and with an intelligible language.

    • Why and when do I need a cookie policy and a cookie banner?

Every company that uses cookies on its website needs a cookie policy and a cookie banner.

You have the legal obligation to inform individuals that you intend to place cookies on their device and provide information on the cookies you intend to use.

Cookies that require prior consent of individuals can not be placed before individuals have provided their consent. Your cookie policy is always part of your privacy policy.

Having transparent and easy-to-understand policies for your targeted audience is a legal GDPR requirement.

    • When do l need to update a privacy or cookie policy?

You need to update your policies regularly.

A privacy policy can be updated when you collect new additional data, for different data processing purposes or if any other legal required information in your privacy policy changes (eg following a change of official guideline or case law).

A cookie policy needs to display all the cookies that you have on your website.
If a new cookie is added, your cookie policy needs to be updated.

Make sure you scan your website regularly in order to update your cookie policy.

    • What if I don't comply? What legal risks or commercial disadvantages would I face?

Having compliant policies is a legal obligation under the GDPR. At the moment evaluation of articles 12, 13 and 14 can result in a fine of 4% of your annual turnover.

Furthermore a qualitative privacy notice allows to build trust with your customer and is a commercial advantage.
